This site is dedicated to the memory of Verity Dennes.

This breath of life fund has been set up in memory of Verity Dennes who sadly died of pneumonia in October 2008. She developed asthma as a child, at a time when treatment was limited. She lived with asthma throughout her life, and subsequently developed bronchiectasis. Despite relative ill health, and against the advice of doctors, she went on to have four sons, and created a wonderful home and garden in Felsted, Essex. Her friends have been kind enough to say how much they valued her expansive spirit, kindness and generosity. She never allowed her lung disease to hold her back, and even in her later years, when her mobility was frustratingly limited she never complained, or even mentioned her own problems. She remained an enthusiastic and gifted gardener, producing wonderfully idiosyncratic gardens in Felsted, Wellow and in Cornwall (Portloe). She sadly developed (Streptococcal) pneumonia in October and was admitted to the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Despite the very best care and support she sadly died on 25 October. This British Lung foundation "Breath of Life fund" has been set up in memory of Verity, to help the British Lung Foundation support those affected by lung disease. All donations would be very gratefully received. Love is not changed by death and nothing is lost, and all in the end is harvest Julian of Norwich
